Uttarakhand Himalayas

Malari

Malari is easily one of the highest places, where cannabis can be found at growing naturally, which ranges up to 3000+ metres. It is situated right next to the Indo Tibetian Border and is only inhabited by the villagers for the summer months. The landrace present in this transition zone is a non domesticated short flowering, resinous type which typically flowers within 8 weeks.

Panchgram

Panchgram is a place where 5 major springs of natural water meet and combine to become a tributary of river Ganges. The landrace growing here is super strechy, plants grow 20+ feet with support and 16 feet without support. They have a loosely packed bud structure where the buds grow vertically upwards throwing parallel sets of calyces, covered with resin.

Champawat

Champawat District is located in the eastern Kumaon division of Uttarakhand and shares borders with Nepal. The cannabis culture is not limited to just recreational uses here, it has been used in the daily diet through seeds and as cloth fibre in this region since centuries. The landrace plants of this area are properly domesticated, they have multiple side branching, dense closely packed flowers which carry these enormous seeds.
